Claxton is often asked to provide tailored and bespoke engineering solutions in response to our clients operating needs.
These special projects often come about as a result of unforeseen challenges - Claxton's 25 years of experience can help to ensure successful resolutions to these issues.
Example Project: Tieback Connector
We created a bespoke tieback connector to successfully tieback a well that had a 14 degree inclination, where normal tolerances are in the range of 1 to 2 degrees. The well was successfully tied back using this bespoke connector.
Example Project: Rigless Abandonment Recovery Package
We also performed the first-ever rigless abandonment in the North Sea in a tight weather window - an operator had discovered a fatigued conductor. Claxton developed a recovery interface which enable the well to be cost effectively abandoned before the winter weather damaged the conductor further.
Example Project: Additional Platform Slot
An operator wanted to add an additional slot to a mature platform. Claxton developed a bracing system which enabled the new conductor guides to be securely located within the existing jacket.
Additionally, Claxton can often combine our large call-off equipment inventory with a fast-track design-analyse-build engineering service to provide an extremely rapid response to the issues our clients face.
