The Claxton jacking system is based on a unique, safe design: it verifies casing severance in a safe and controlled manner, and benefits from a unique safety feature that absorbs any shock loading from sudden breakout. This provides a safe and effective method for proving casing severance, and keeps operational downtime to a minimum.
Used in conjunction with other Claxton decommissioning and slot recovery service products, it forms part of a unique and cost effective solution.
Features:
- Facilitates rigless abandonment
- Design adaptable for many applications
- Suitable for rig floor or skid beam mounting
- Can be used for casing recovery operations
- Small footprint and low impact interface and rig-up
- Suitable for heavy lifts in space-restricted areas
Unique and safe design: When a conventional rig’s draw works are used to provide load in an application where unknown resistance loads may suddenly release, the system cannot safely disperse the kinetic energy and damaging dynamic loads can be transferred to the platform structure.
In contrast, our jacking system provides a safe and controlled method of applying load to a conductor. The jacking force applied is equal to the resistance load, therefore there is no stored energy. When resistance is lost (such as in the event of cement bond loss or tubular shear) the released energy is applied to the cylinder, and the shock load compensators dissipate the energy in a safe, controlled action.
