Claxton announces strategic growth of Middle East rental inventory
Claxton, an Acteon company, has announced that a range of rental equipment is newly available for rapid call-off directly from the company’s Dubai base.
Known for leadership in engineering and services for jackup drilling in the North Sea, Claxton has been rapidly expanding in the Middle East since opening a regional base there in 2008.
The new equipment on offer includes riser tension rings and tension systems, flushing and brushing tools, hot tapping equipment from 2 to 36 in., and cold cutting equipment from 7 to 30 in. Claxton’s industry-leading fleet of subsea and inspection cameras can now also be mobilised directly from the Middle East. In addition, tools and personnel to support wellhead maintenance are available.
Nick Dale, base manager, Claxton Dubai, said, “Claxton has a well-earned reputation for providing high-quality equipment on a call-off basis, so we are very excited to announce the strategic growth of our Dubai inventory.
“Clients have been very clear in telling us they that need equipment that can be mobilised quickly from within the Middle East, and it is our goal to meet this need with an ever-growing stock of equipment. We are convinced that Middle Eastern customers will see genuine value in our high-quality rental tools and engineering services that will enhance their projects.”
Claxton’s Dubai base, a facility of nearly 370 m2 in the Jebel Ali Free Zone, has already proved invaluable to several major operators and national oil companies by providing riser tensioning, hot tapping and wellhead maintenance services.
As part of Acteon’s wider risers, conductors and flowlines offer, Claxton uses its experience to supply innovative proprietary technologies to clients, including the world’s first 12,200-psi jackup riser technology and the multi-award-winning suspended well abandonment tool, SWAT®.
