Project Engineer
Salary: Competitive - contingent on experience

The projects department is seeking to recruit two Project Engineers to join their growing team to fulfil all project management duties in respect of assigned projects. 

The first role is more senior, ideal for candidates able to demonstrate experience of providing technical input into bids and quotations, being aware of all affected stakeholders whilst managing projects from both an on and offshore perspective. Knowledge of Microsoft Project would be an advantage and this individual would need to be comfortable in supervising a team. 

A second more junior role is available for someone early on in their project engineering career who wishes to develop alongside more senior colleagues.

Experience within the oil & gas industry and the willingness and ability to go offshore is essential in order to be considered for these roles. 
 
This role requires individuals to be flexible and able to work autonomously as well as under direction.   Excellent oral and written communication skills are a must, together with strong organisational and planning skills and the ability to be self-motivated.

Analytical Design Engineer
Salary: Competitive - contingent on experience

Due to internal promotion and expansion, the design team is seeking an experienced FEA Design Engineer to join their team. The role involves design, calculations, FEA, drawings and project control work.
 
Key responsibilities include:
  • Creating designs in support of Claxton’s projects
  • Provide design verification (FEA, hand calculations) in support of Claxton's projects and products
  • Create drawings for manufacture, client review, quotation, in-house marketing, etc. as required
  • Lead projects from the design perspective
  • Act as a mentor to other design engineers within the team
  • Working closely with the Project Engineers and members of staff in the delivery of key projects 

Knowledge and experience requirements:

  • Mechanical Engineering degree
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in mechanical engineering environment, including working to designated standards and material selection
  • Expert in the preparation of FEA studies and reports, ideally using Ansys software
  • Experienced in modelling and drafting using 3D software, ideally Solidworks
  • Familiar with Autocad 2D drafting
  • Computer literate using MS products (Word, Excel, Outlook, Windows, PowerPoint)
  • Able to verify designs by creating hand calculations using Mathcad
  • Familiar with standards and specifications relevant to the oil and gas industry

Offshore Service Technician
Salary: Competitive - contingent on experience

The role is focused on installing, maintaining, servicing and running Claxton rental and purchased equipment offshore as well as providing engineering support onshore to prepare equipment.

To apply for this role you will:
  • Have a current offshore survival and medical certificate
  • Have a minimum of 2 years previous experience working as an offshore engineer within an engineering discipline
  • Be prepared to travel on an ad-hoc basis
  • Understand quality assurance procedures and factory acceptance testing
Preferred key skills/knowledge and experience will include:
  • Installation of both fixed and mobile well control equipment
  • Pressure testing
  • Bolt torque
  • Casing cutting
  • Hydraulics
  • Remote camera systems
  • Good leadership / supervisor skills
